About

Holy Trinity Church Inwood is a community who gathers to celebrate God’s creation. Our mission is to offer sanctuary and space for healing, to help sustain the world, and nurture connections through our hospitality. We celebrate and remember the experience of apostles who followed Jesus Christ. They were transformed by the power of his faith to overcome death.

We are an Episcopal church – a tradition that allows for diverse practices to build a spiritual life. Our churches are governed by the laity – people who are not ordained – who collaborate with their spiritual leaders and other Episcopal churches. Some call us “Anglican” because of our historic roots with the churches that were shaped after the English Reformation.

Holy Trinity Church Inwood does not restrict leadership to one gender. We believe in the compatibility of scientific exploration and faith. We collaborate with other religious traditions when we have shared interests. We welcome people outside traditional family structures.

Current members include activists, administrators, artists, attorneys, musicians, and playwrights. They are seniors and millennials, the exhausted and the energetic, healers and those needing healing, the lukewarm and the passionate, and everyone is seeking to build a church worthy of Jesus Christ.

In the midst of an anxious culture, where people are overwhelmed and lonely, Holy Trinity Church Inwood provides a space of rest and reflection. We offer face-to-face connections rather than only virtual ones. We offer time for people to find the signal of God in a world full of noise.

Joining a community requires a willingness to grow, to challenge, to be challenged, to live! But, if you are skeptical about organized religion, here you can have a conversation without pressure. You can explore your connections and spirituality at your own pace.
